The City of Monroe Gears Up for a Spectacular Holiday Season

Monroe, LA - As the holiday season approaches, the City of Monroe is set to transform into a winter wonderland with a series of holiday events.

Kicking off the Christmas festivities is Holidays on Main Marketplace on November 28 at 3 PM. Monroe's Main Street will come alive with local makers, creatives, and businesses selling handmade gifts. This marketplace is the perfect opportunity to start your holiday shopping while immersing yourself in the spirit of the season.

Directly following the marketplace, the CPKC Holiday Express opens for tours and pictures from 4 PM - 8 PM. Families and friends are invited to board this festive train, where the interior sparkles with holiday magic. Best of all, visitors will have the chance to meet Santa and his merry elves.

On December 1 at 6 PM, the City will gather for the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting. Join us at the Monroe Civic Center for an evening of holiday festivities. Following the tree lighting, the Jack Howard Theatre will host a heartwarming holiday movie.

Cap off the holiday celebrations with a bang at the Christmas Fireworks on the River, taking place on December 2 at the RiverMarket in Downtown Monroe. Gather with friends and family for a breathtaking fireworks display that lights up the night sky.

Throughout December, the Downtown Monroe RiverMarket will be glowing with the twinkle of Christmas lights. Stroll through the market and embrace the holiday spirit that fills the air.
