            The following Ordinance was offered by Ms.  Woods                      who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Mrs.  Ezernack               :

AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING AND AMENDING THE ZONING MAP FOR THE CITY OF MONROE, LOUISIANA

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Monroe has held its Public Hearing with respect to the following proposed Zoning Map Amendment, to-wit:

An amendment to the Zoning Map to rezone a ±12.95 acre tract of land, more or less, presently located in Ouachita Parish from I-1, Industrial Business Park District to    I-2, Heavy Industrial/Manufacturing District.

WHEREAS, the legal description of these properties is:

A certain tract of land situated in the Monroe Industrial Park, City of Monroe, Ouachita Parish, Louisiana and being more particularly described as follows, to-wit:

Beginning at the intersection of the South right-of-way line of Transport Avenue and the West right-of-way line of Cargo Lane as shown on the “Survey or the Monroe Industrial Park” plat filed in Plat Book 15 – Page 113 of the records of Ouachita Parish, Louisiana; Thence S 5°14’00” W, along the West right-of-way line of Cargo Lane, a distance of 768.85 feet to the North right-of-way line of Alloy Drive, Thence N 84°48’26” W, along the North right-of-way line of Alloy Drive, a distance of 732.11 feet to the East Right-of-Way line of Kansas Lane as shown on the construction plans for State Project No.’s 742-06-15, 742-06-17 and 742-07-0101; Thence N 5°10’32” E, along the East right-of-way line of said Kansas Lane, a distance of 316.41 feet; Thence N 3°07’34” E, along the East right-of-way line of said Kansas Lane, a distance 139.81 feet; Thence along a tangential curve concave to the east, (said curve having a delta angle of 9°41’53”, a radius of 1854.87 feet, a chord bearing of N 7°58’30” E and a chord distance of 313.59 feet) and being the East right-of-way line of Kansas Lane, an arc distance of 313.96 feet to the South right-of-way line of Transport Avenue; Thence S 84°46’07” E, along the South right-of-way line of Transport Avenue, a distance of 722.57 feet to the Point of Beginning. Containing 12.95 acres more or less.

      APPLICANT: Auto Shred of Louisiana (MA 114-17)

WHEREAS, the City Council has further considered the report of the Monroe Planning Commission recommending approval, on a 6-0-1 vote. Auto Shred of Louisiana is leasing this property and would like to operate a solid waste. The proposed zoning request of I-2, Heavy Industrial/Manufacturing District is the appropriate classification for this use.

NOW, THEREFORE:

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana in legal session convened that the Zoning Map of the City of Monroe and the boundaries thereof which map is described in Section 37-34 of the City of Monroe Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance and which map shown the Zoning Districts and Boundaries thereof, be and the same are hereby amended to zone the ±12.95 acres previously described to I-2, Heavy Industrial/Manufacturing District as shown on the map which is attached hereto and made a part thereof and which is adopted as the new Zoning Map of the City of Monroe.

This ordinance was INTRODUCED on the 13th day of November 2018.

NOTICE PUBLISHED on the  16th, 19th & 21st  day of  November           , 2018.

            This Ordinance having been submitted in writing, introduced and published was then submitted to a final vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:

AYES:            Echols, Ezernack, Woods & Wilson

NAYS:            None.

ABSENT:       Clark

            And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on the  27th    day of  November, 2018.
