Mayor Jamie Mayo issues the following public statement regarding the current issues with delayed trash pick-ups

Thursday, May 17, 2018 - 3:15pm

“First of all, we want our customers to know that we apologize for the inconvenience! We know that nobody wants their trash to sit out any longer than it needs to. We want you to know that our Public Works crews are being aggressive to address this issue.

1. Our Trash Division / Trash Pickup personnel are working longer shifts, six-days a week.
2. We had some mechanical issues with our trucks, but that has been addressed.
3. We are working on solutions to address the problem.

It is going to take us a little while to get back on schedule, so for the short-term, we are looking at bringing in some outside help so that we can make sure your trash is picked up in a timely and consistent manner!

Again, we apologize for the inconvenience; and, we appreciate your patience!” – Mayor Jamie Mayo, City of Monroe, LA
