Policies of DBE

It is the policy of the City of Monroe, in compliance with Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 23, as amended, issued by the United States Department of Transportation to establish procedures by which DBEs will have maximum opportunity to participate in DOT- assisted contracts.  Title 49, as amended, requires that the City if Monroe, its bidders and its contractors utilize small business and women-owned businesses to the maximum extent feasible in all phases of its procurement practices.

It is also the policy of the City of Monroe to provide an equal opportunity for DBEs/ WBEs in the areas of construction, professional service, equipment and supplies, and generally fulfilling whatever other procurement requirements the city may have with respect to DOT –assisted contracts.

NONDISCRIMATION(§26.7)

The City of Monroe will not exclude any person from participation in, deny any person the benefits of, or otherwise discriminate against anyone in connection with the award and performance of any contract covered by 49 C.F.R. Part 26 on  the basis of race, color, sex, or national origin.
