Michael Echols is Director of Business Development for Vantage Health Plan and Affinity Health Group. He was raised in Northeast Louisiana, attended ULM and graduated with degrees in Accounting and Masters of Business Administration. He is a graduate of Leadership Louisiana in 2004.
Michael is a member of the Monroe Rotary, Monroe Kiwanis, Monroe Chamber of Commerce Board, North Louisiana Economic Partnership Board, LABI Board Member, President of Downtown Monroe Renaissance, Board Member of the Louisiana Association of Health Plans, past Chair of the Louisiana Trust for Historic Preservation, formerly a Commissioner of Historic Preservation for Monroe, past President for Monroe Kiwanis Club, past Chairman of the Northeast Louisiana Arts Council, past President of the Monroe Symphony Orchestra, past President for the Garden District Neighborhood Alliance, past Chairman for the LA State Arts Council. He was one of the Founding Board Members of the Center for Children and Families in NELA as well as the Monroe Symphony Orchestra Endowment.
Michael has been recognized as one of the Top 20 under 40 by the Monroe Chamber of Commerce as well as honored with the James Shipp Young Business Leader Award. He was recognized by Louisiana’s Lieutenant Governor with the Passion for Culture Award.
Echols owns three real estate development companies, Echolstar Investments, MyEcho Development and Michael Echols Enterprises. These companies work to restore historic properties and create special places for businesses and community. Michael is a licensed commercial contractor in Louisiana.
Michael is married to Christie Jones Echols, an architect, they have 2 daughters.
